Working visit to Nigeria

Overall, the working visit proved highly productive, reinforcing DAAD’s engagement with Nigerian higher education institutions and laying the groundwork for future collaboration. Both FUNAAB and the University of Ibadan demonstrated strong institutional commitment to expanding partnerships, promoting mobility, and pursuing joint research opportunities.

21 German institution rectors and vice rectors visit Ghana

A delegation of 21 university rectors and vice rectors from Germany visited Ghana, engaging with Ghanaian Universities and institutions to strengthen dialogue, exchange ideas, and explore new avenues for collaboration.

DAAD alumni events in Ghana, Nigeria and Cameroon

DAAD invites former DAAD scholarship holders from Ghana, Cameroon and Nigeria who are planning small alumni events scheduled between April and July 2025 to submit their applications for funding. Deadline: 30th January 2026.

In-Country/In-Region scholarship programme 2026/27

Call for application

The target group for scholarships are graduates and postgraduates from Sub-Saharan Africa with a first academic degree if applying for a Master programme, or with a Master degree if applying for a doctoral programme who want to pursue Master's or PhD courses in their home country (so called In-Country scholarships) or in another Sub-Saharan African country (In-Region scholarships).
