The scholarship programme “Leadership for Africa” (LfA) aims to support the academic qualification and advancement of young refugees and national scholars from Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Niger and Senegal at higher education institutions in Germany.

German universities, like most universities around the world, maintain a broad network of international partnerships. The DAAD supports such international partnerships through a number of schemes that aim to foster cooperation among higher education institutions.
In the eyes of the DAAD, the end of a funding period marks the beginning of a long-standing relationship with us. We aim to stay in touch with our alumni as well as help you get to know one another through a serious of programmes and activities. We also support you in setting up regional DAAD alumni clubs and other forms of networking opportunities.

The DAAD Ghana primarily awards scholarships for students who wish to pursue their Master's and doctoral studies in Germany.
The basic requirements for the scholarships are:
➡ Good Bachelor’s degree (i.e. Second class upper and above).
➡ Two years of work experience.
➡ Most recent academic degree must have been obtained within the last 6 years.
