Just a week ago, on 5 June 2026, some brilliant innovators and researchers pitched bold ideas to break barriers.
A BIG Congratulations to Christiana Adofua Assah of the University for Development Studies - UDS for winning Falling Walls Lab Accra, Ghana 2026!
Her presentation “Breaking the Wall of Toxic Malaria Diagnosis” using locally available materials to produce stains for malaria diagnosis impressed both the jury and audience, earning her the opportunity to represent Ghana at the Falling Walls Lab Finale in Berlin this November.
Bridget Boamah Appiah from Bellview Eyecare and Optical Services took 2nd place with her idea, Breaking the Wall of Passive Bionic Vision, using readily available material for her non-invasive bionic vision for the visually impaired.
Joel Senyo Ahadzi from the University of Energy and Natural Resources presented on Breaking the Wall of AI Bidirectional Ghana Sign Language Translation earning him the third place.
The Audience Award went to Allen Kpentey of Ashesi University for Breaking the Wall of Affordable Clean Mobility.
