New Vice-Chancellor of KNUST charts bold path for the university’s future
Speaking before dignitaries, faculty, alumni, and students, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized that the university’s future rests on embracing change and cultivating a culture of innovation. “Greatness is not defined by where you begin, but by the courage with which you pursue your end,” he declared, underscoring his commitment to transformative leadership.
The seven priorities he outlined are:
- Transformative education and mindset shift to foster innovation and expand access.
- Curriculum innovation to produce graduates who create opportunities and lead responsibly.
- Institutional excellence through stronger governance, accountability, and revitalized collegiate systems.
- Sustainable infrastructure development that is inclusive, resilient, and environmentally conscious.
- Strategic integration of artificial intelligence to optimize processes and enhance competitiveness.
- Global partnerships and alumni engagement to deepen research collaboration and expand international visibility.
- Financial sustainability through diversified revenue streams and commercialization of intellectual property.
“Our vision is one where knowledge does not remain in lecture halls, but works beyond our gates to change the world,” he said, quoting management thinker Peter Drucker: “The best way to predict the future is to create it.”
The Vice-Chancellor concluded with a call to unity and shared responsibility: “No contribution is too small when it serves a noble cause. Together, we shall rise. Together, we shall excel. Together, we shall save the future of our legacies.”
