I was blessed to have been part of the 2019 edition of the PhD Proposal Writing Workshop in Accra. I learnt a lot not only about writing great proposals but also about how to find a PhD opportunity, how to get the attention of a potential supervisor and how to prepare for and conduct yourself during a PhD study. I then joined the whatsapp platform that was formed from the group afterwards. On this platform, Dr. Richard Blay, one of the facilitators and a former DAAD scholar posted a PhD opportunity in my area. With the knowledge gained, I developed a new proposal and applied. I am so happy to say that I have been successful and have been given the PhD position with a DAAD scholarship. I am immensely grateful. I will greatly encourage everybody to take part in this programme, especially because it is at no cost to you but offers such tremendous benefits. The PhD proposal workshop was an awesome opportunity for me.
