The Spring School aims at generating knowledge transfer among participants from African countries and Southern powers at the science-policy-interface through:

  1. Peer Learning: interdisciplinary, solution-based analyses of challenges in economies, societies and the environment.
  2. Multi-participants perspectives acknowledging the diversity of cultures within the global dialogue.
  3. Science Communication: generating and sharing scientific knowledge products through dynamic peer learning.

We invite African Germany-Alumni from any German University and field of study (especially current PhD students at African Universities) and Alumni of the Managing Global Governance Academy (MGG) of the DIE interested in sustainability and academic policy advice. Africans who have absolved at least a 3,5 month academic stay in Germany are considered as African Germany-Alumni.

The Spring School takes place between 18 and 27 March 2020 in Bonn, Germany. Major costs will be covered by the organisers.

Further information and application procedures can be found on the website.

Application Deadline: 28 October 2019.

The project is funded within the DAAD Alumni-Programme to expand and strengthen cooperation with alumni from developing countries.
