The Ghanaian-German Postgraduate Training Programme is a scholarship scheme jointly funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the government of Ghana under the Ghana Scholarships Secretariat. The new scholarship holders have been selected.
This year, close to 30 candidates were invited to be interviewed by a selection committee made up of German and Ghanaian scientist from different fields. Finally, ten scholars from the fields of Bioscience, Environmental science, Computer science, Engineering and other subject areas made it and were selected for the scholarship. They will be starting their PhDs from October. Selected candidates are already in German for a 4-month language course till the end of September, 2019. We wish them the very best in their endeavours.
This scholarship scheme is strictly to pursue a PhD degree at a German university or research institute. Among other requirements, prospective candidates must be Ghanaian citizens and must be a teaching or research staff at a Ghanaian tertiary institution.
The new call for the Ghanaian-German Postgraduate Training Programme should be announced from July, 2019.
